Description
My motherland is so beautiful. It is our national flower. The spectacular beauty of the Shapla flowers blooming on the water really fascinates any person. Shapla and Shaluk are among the most popular names for some of the most important aquatic plants in the haor-baor wetlands across the country. At one time this flower was visible in the wells and ponds of rural Bengal. That is why the Father of the Nation chose Shapla as the national flower. Shapla is a kind of aquatic plant. The leaves are large, round, floating and the flowers are beautiful. The number of species is about 50. born in different countries. In Bangladesh, there are two types of blood kamalas, white and red. Shapla trees and stalks grow at a depth of 5 to 20 feet in water. The people of the village used to relish this soft and crunchy stalk as a mouth-watering vegetable or by adding salt and tamarind to it. Moreover, the shapla stalk is still very popular as an excellent curry for cooking fish and meat. At the age of two or three months, the petals of the flower fall off. A flower-like cluster is formed on the head, which is known as Dhap in rural Bengal. These flowers were visible in the wells and ponds of the village Bengal. The traditional shapla, shaluk and dhaap are no longer visible.
