Description

Khagrachari is a green town of mountains, Jhiri Jharna valley and forest. There are several springs in the inaccessible wild hills in the district. Now the largest and most beautiful waterfall of Khagrachari has been found, ‘Shilachhari’ waterfall. The waterfall is named Shilachari Jharna after the rock-encased waterfall. This is the new attraction for the adventurous. It was found in Shilachari, a town on the border between Dighinala of Khagrachari and Langdur of Rangamati.

It takes about one and a half hour to reach the waterfall by walking from the locality. Here instead of high and low mountains, you have to walk along the path. So the difficulty of walking is a little less. Walking in the cool water of Jhiri, you will see high mountains. Rock-covered hills of Tertian age. The passerby will be impressed while walking along the easy path of Jhiri path. The eyes will widen as soon as you cross the hilly village and come down to the main stream. About 20 to 40 feet wide jhiri is filled with big stones. Crystal clear water flows out from the big stones. The waterfall flows down the rocks rhythmically. The silence of nature is broken and a wonderful melody is created here. Walking through the stone-covered corridors, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back into the Tertian era. As you get closer to the ‘Shilachari’ spring, the sound of water comes out.
